Jocks & Nerds redesign for issue 19

Jocks Nerds 19 THE DAILY STREET-1

One of the UK’s most loved men’s fashion magazines, Jocks & Nerds, have undergone an extensive redesign for their latest issue.

People throw the word “extensive” around quite easily, especially when teamed up with the word “redesign”, but here it’s warranted. It seems that the team at Jocks & Nerds have taken a step back and reassessed every detail, all under the watchful eye of recently appointed Art Director Shazia Chaudhry. The magazine has had a few redesigns in recent years, from the cover revamp that accompanied the magazine taking on a cover price, to the tweaks we saw last issue, but this one is the one we expect to see stick for a while, and J&N founder Marcus Agerman Ross is very happy about it (check out his appearance on the latest episode of The Stack on Monocle 24 to hear more).

Not only is the layout and typography different, the format is substantially larger. Also, the Jocks & Nerds logo has taken a bold new direction, moving from serif to a stocky block capital sans serif typeface. Change has come.

I’m a big fan. The content has always been super strong in Jocks & Nerds and this latest redesign really feels like it does it justice, from the photography to the written word. I’m a sucker for a nice page of oversized typography (see below).

Make sure you grab a copy of this landmark issue as Jocks & Nerds continue their adventure. You can pick one up from any good menswear store, as well as all WHSmith stores.
