I’ve been a little slow on the uptake with this one, so forgive me, but what I’ve got to show you is worthy of a mention nonetheless. UK brand Trapstar have just dropped their newest cut and sew piece, the 1st Battalion shirt, and it’s a fine piece of work.
Despite the somewhat over the top explanation for the inspiration behind the piece and a certain similarity with Second Son’s Deer Hunter shirt released last summer, I’m impressed with the way it’s turned out. What you’ve got is a dark green tweed style shirt with a brown leather shoulder patch – a really smart look and perfect if you’re into showing that British heritage flair.
The detailing is finished off with a red top button, Trapstar logo stitching on the front and standard “…it’s a secret” patch on the back. My favourite details however, are the way the shirt is cut around the shoulders, and the slight slant to the front pockets, something that stands out a little from the norm.
If you’re feeling the shirt, you can pick it up now from Supra in London or Donuts in Bristol – Donuts also have the shirt available online, along with a bunch of other Trapstar shirts, sweats and tees, here.
