Passarella Death Squad Stadium Jacket

As London fashion brand Passarella Death Squad look to grow into new directions, a small range of cut & sew garments have arrived into the market. This particular piece is one of our personal favourites from the collection and is the PDS take on a classic stadium jacket.

Made in Japan, this jacket follows the rules of PDS’s t-shirts collections being made from only premium materials. The sleeves are constructed from really soft, thin leather and complimented by a thin wool body. This jacket is not like your usual chunky stadium jackets and don’t expect this to keep you boiling hot in the winter. This is more of a refined rendition of a classic jacket and therefore, in it’s own way, more original. Zip-fastened cuffs add a biker jacket feel that helps this jacket sit in with the rest of the collection.

This is definitely a fashion take on the classic stadium, dragging it from the streetwear scene and scrubbing it up to make it more presentable in the higher circles of clothing, and personally I think it’s a success. Coming in all Black, it’s a sleek item, however I was given a tip-off that more colours will be coming in the future.

The Passarella Death Squad Stadium Jacket is available now exclusively from the Selfridges Men’s Contemporary Floor.

I was instantly attracted to the ideaology of PDS, and the brands devotion to quality materials. However upon seeing the t-shirts in Selfridges I was extremely disappointed. Their imagery and graphics are undoubtedly first class and at times wickedly provocative, making them highly desireable. However the quality, or lack of it, was appauling when it came to not only the finished piece but also how it was finished. Rough around the edges can look good, of course it can, the collection I saw looked shabby and as if no attention was paid to it nor was the end consumer ever regarded. I really have been gutted. Looking at this jacket does not fill me with hope yet, especially when I know the region the RRP will be in, but I’ll have a look at this season’s offerings and see what’s happening.
