Benny Gold Spring/Summer 2011

The work of Benny Gold, and the brand to which he gives his name, arrives in UK stores this weekend, and it is without a doubt his best collection to date. The new Spring/Summer line is comprised of tees and caps, with a few sweatshirts, jackets and accessories rounding things off nicely, all featuring Benny’s graphic design and illustrative talents.

The chain stitched ‘Script B’ and regal ‘Plane Crest’ snapbacks are the crowning glory, the first in Giants/Raiders colours of black/orange and black/grey, and the latter in black or purple, both with white and gold embroidery. T-shirt wise, those familiar with the brand’s previous work should be pretty pleased, as it carries on the same standard of excellence. Check out the ‘Gopher Gold Mascot’, ‘Good Luck’, and ‘Unchained’ designs for a good example. My personal favourite though, the ‘Key To Success’ tee, features a photo of Benny himself, by skate photographer Gabe Morford, captured when he split his head open whilst skateboarding, a moment now forever immortalised in T-shirt form.

You’ll also find a select few pieces of fleece and outerwear, fitting in nicely with the college and varsity themes of the collection. View some of the highlights below, and find it at UK stockists from weekend, including Angry Daves, Fat Buddha, Note and Urban Industry.
