TENT by Esther Porter SS12 Collection

For all the heads that like to do their bit for the planet, British accessories brand TENT by Esther Porter come with a line of bags that will win you big green points.

The concept behind the line is to make use of tents that are left over at the summer music festivals, crafting pieces of luggage from the reclaimed materials. The collection takes to the task of crafting four classic styles from the tent fabrics. The classic silhouettes consist of a duffel, a large buckle satchel, a holdall and a barrel design, available in the usual tent colours, featuring muted blues, greys, reds, air force blue and light khaki. Every piece has been designed in London’s East End and manufactured with hand crafted efforts by Chapman bags Ltd. in Cumbria in the North West of England. The way the fabrics are sourced and hand crafted means each piece differs slightly in colour and is completely unique.

Talking from personal experience, the amount of tents left over at summer music festivals is a shocker, so the ethos behind this instantly struck a chord. The bags look good, are made with quality craftsmanship and it’s a great concept that does good things for the planet.

Selected items from the collection are available instore now and online later this month at YMC.
