After a few weeks of teaser images, today we finally get a full look at the soon to be released collaboration between London store Footpatrol and asics, on their Gel Saga II model.
Taking inspiration from natural materials, as suggested by the wooden surroundings, shavings and sawdust in the imagery which mirror the shoe’s buttery suede upper. The theme continues with solid blue & metallic 3M highlights and the gum rubber outsole. The asics logo stripes are blue with reflective 3M underneath on the outside of the upper, and this is reversed on the inside for an asymmetric look. Brand logos appear on the heels, with further Footpatrol imagery on each insole.
Every pair comes with two sets of laces and a custom dustbag, but the first 100 sold will come inside a numbered, wooden shoe box too, so it’ll be worth getting in line early when they release this Saturday, September 22nd, at 10am. It’s a clean and simple production, but the beauty is in the details and the execution. I’m sure these will fly, so if you’re keen, get to Footpatrol on Saturday.
