Recap: Nike Lunar Force 1 London Launch

Last week saw the London launch of what Nike are calling “the future one”; the Nike Lunar Force 1.

It feels like it’s been a little while since we last saw a Nike event like this in London, but perhaps we’re still recovering from the Olympic buzz we had grown accustomed to. Hosted at Nike’s 1948 unit in Shoreditch, the event was a real homage to the space age qualities of this hybrid shoe, with a bright white entrance hall and a rocket-like light display showcasing what we were all their to celebrate; the Lunar Force 1. Music was flowing throughout the nike courtesy of Piff Gang’s DJ Motive alongside Seb Chew. Big Apple Hotdogs came through with the food duties, serving up some serious grub for the crowd.

Next door, a completely blue lit room played host to a basketball screening between Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks, serving as a visual reminder of where the AF1 came from.

As with all of these types of events, and these types of shoes, there was a lot of back and forth about whether or not people liked the shoe or not, and wether they preferred the original, making for some interesting and very geeky conversation.

Shouts to all the Nike family and all those we had the pleasure of partying alongside.
