Nike treat the European market with this triple pack of very limited edition EU exclusives, including a new HTM FlyKnit Trainer+, a FlyKnit Racer and an Inneva Woven.
This pack seems to have come out of no where. No pre-hype, no iPhone photo leaks, no blog wankery … which is nice. All three pairs of sneakers are beyond dope and take recent super-hype drops to a new level with their colourways … which is nice. There’s only one continent where you can buy this pack, Europe, and only two cities, London and Milan, and only two stores, 1948 and Nike Stadium Milano … which is really nice.
The HTM trio make a welcome return in this pack, taking their hands to a FlyKnit Trainer+ and doing their thing. For those less familiar with what HTM stands for, it’s the super design trio Hiroshi Fujiwara (Fragment Design Founder), Tinker Hatfield (legendary Nike Designer) and Mark Parker (NIKE Inc. President & CEO). It’s very similar to when the Power Rangers used to morph into their individual Zords and them team morph into the Megazord. And yes, I did just used a technical Power Rangers metaphor.
The FlyKnit Racer in this pack isn’t HTM, but it does seem to follow the same design aesthetics as a lot of the recent HTM FlyKnits, including the one in this pack, so I’m not sure why it didn’t get the HTM name as well. To be honest, who cares, it still looks great in its crazy Summer colours.
Unlike the FlyKnits in this pack, the Inneva Woven stubbornly shuns any and all colour and opts for a completely monochrome approach. An all black upper sits beautifully on top of a speckled light grey sole unit. This shoe is very similar to the recent Inneva Woven SP, but to discerning eye the light grey sole unit with it’s black speckle and the addition of black laces and a black lining make all the difference.
This pack drops at 1948 London this Saturday morning, 13th April.
