adidas Originals Blue Collection Fall/Winter 2013

adidas Originals recently released their new Blue Collection for Fall/Winter 2013 – a streamlined take on sportswear using strong colours and custom prints.

The Blue Collection is a full range of apparel and footwear with five key prints at its core – zigzag, leopard, rain, camo and diamond. Each of the prints is used throughout the collection, both as a key design feature all over some pieces and as a more subtle accent on others. adidas launched the collection with an interactive 3D installation earlier this month, bringing to life these seasonal graphics with the help of illustrator and animator Nicos Livesey. The theme here is of sportswear re-appropriated for the streets, bringing the technical elements of running and basketball design and incorporating them into a collection intended for use away from the track or court.

The outerwear stands out as a highlight across the board, with items like the leopard Printed Windbreaker, Field Shell Jacket, and short and long Down Jackets showcasing the Blue collection’s overall aesthetic well. This, paired with some no fuss fleece items in black and heather grey, brings the sportswear roots full circle and produces some very wearable looks. In a move away from what is typical of adidas Originals’ apparel, the collection also features very little branding, allowing the prints and material used throughout to take centre stage.

The Originals Blue collection is available now from adidas, check out some of our favourite pieces in the images below.
