Today we present the fourth and final part of our exclusive “Girls” series by Rebecca Naen and Hayley McCarthy; “Girls in Presence”, a focus on Garbstore’s AW13 collection.
It’s been a joy to publish each and every part of this tetralogy and to watch both photographer and stylist grow throughout the process, both as artists and in recognition. We stand by our gut feelings from the first shoot that these two and their surrounding team make for a powerful creative force and that Rebecca and Hayley specifically are two of the most exciting names to come from the London fashion circuit this year.
In their fourth and final part, they have looked to West London brand Garbstore for their inspiration. It’s fitting that this exciting project finished with a focus on one of London’s best independent brands who happen also to be releasing some of the most inspiring collections to come out of our country at the moment. The shoot also features some of the recently announced second season of collaborative “outside in” footwear with Reebok Classic, exclusively showcasing the Pump Fury and Inferno “Stripped” for the first time online. As with the recurring theme of this project, the masculine clothing and attitude is complimented by the striking architecture and juxtaposed by the choice of a very feminine model. It’s been really interesting to see how each different model, location and brand have had an effect on the same concept over all four shoots, while still playing with the topic of female empowerment.
We’ll be sad to see this project come to an end, but all good things must end or we can never move forward. Here’s to the continued growth of this power-duo and to more photography projects in the near future. For a full understanding of the project, make sure you check out each part below …
