Music Monday: December Week 1

As we roll into the festive period, lets see how our listening choices are shaping up in this weeks Music Monday featuring the likes of The Diplomats, Sleep, Glassjaw and Marvin Gaye.

01. Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence (Album)

“Possibly my favourite album of all time has made a return for this week. Glassjaw is a band that never got old for me, and for about the 8th winter in a row, EYEWTKAS is back on my iPod.” – Thom

02. Jagger & Bowie – Dancing In The Street

“On Saturday night, my wife and I spent all evening trying to recreate this song. So much so, I split my jeans during a Bowie lunge. So, if anyone wants to get me a early Christmas present, some new Carhartt jeans would be great.” – Thom

03. Sleep – Dragonaut

“It’s been a mix of blues and metal for me this week, with Sleep’s Holy Mountain a go to choice. One of my favourite albums.” – Chris

04. Hyetal & Shortstuff – Ice Cream

“Yet again I’ve gone for another Bristolian classic. Ice Cream was a tune I used to have on constant rotation in my dj sets and now i’ve just pulled it back out to play on my ipod. Classic cut.” – Luke

05. The Diplomats – I Really Mean It

“Talk about a great time for hip hop. This track is just straight classic Just Blaze production. I love it.” – Luke

06. Kanye West – Roses

“Listening to Kanye over the years, even though I still rate his music I can’t help his lyrics meant a bit more earlier on in his career. This is a perfect example of his skill both lyrically and in production.” – Luke

07. Marvin Gaye – Joy

“Shouts to the Vinyl Library girls for spinning this at the Ace Hotel lobby. Such a tune!” – Alex
