Back in the late ’80s it was a common sight to see skaters in America wearing the Air Jordan 1 as their skate shoe of choice thanks to it’s high ankle support and technical cushioning. This was a time before skate shoes had really started to get technical and like most of skate culture, skaters were re-interpreting things designed for other purposes.
