We’re flying the flag that little bit more by embracing the brand new .uk domain name that launched yesterday.
For some reason, I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder that us UK websites have had 2 full stops at the end of our URLs. I find it unattractive and mildly pointless, having often winged that it should have just been .uk … well my prayers have been answered and the powers that be (Nominet) announced the brand new .uk domain yesterday as part of a large roll-out of UK centric domain names including .london
Of course, we jumped at the chance to include a .uk domain to our list of alternatives, supporting the concept and backing the new title. Regrettably we will be using it as a forwarding domain, much like our tds.am abbreviation, in order to maintain the past 4 and a bit years of backlinks and brand building etc. etc. I’ll stop there before I get too technical and bore everyone, but we felt it necessary to let people know that we are backing this small piece of progress.
