Video: Sailor Jerry presents ‘Outside The Lines’

Sailor Jerry launch ‘Here’s to Life Outside the Lines’ with a short film channeling the spirit of rebellion, set to ‘TV Eye’ by the Stooges.

Hitting the road in Southern California, the film follows people living the Sailor Jerry lifestyle, those bold enough, stubborn enough, brave enough to live life outside the lines. Paired with original footage from the 1970 Cincinnati Pop Festival aka ‘the great peanut butter incident’ when Iggy Pop smothered himself in peanut butter while performing, the short film aims to embody the lifestyle that Sailor Jerry represents. As one of the forefathers of old school tattoo culture, Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins plays an important role in many modern subcultures, if you don’t know his name, you’ll sure as hell know his work. His influence on tattoo culture is undeniable. The mix of bespoke footage, along with archival footage of the Stooges, skaters and bikers makes for a fast paced and no holds barred ride that you’ll wish you’d been invited on.

The film also marks a recent collaboration between Iggy Pop and Sailor Jerry Clothing titled ‘The Flash Collection’, a limited edition range made up of a denim vest, a hand tooled leather belt and some memorable Sailor Jerry flash patches.
