Cartocon ‘2015: A Cartocon Odyssey’ collection

Dundee based brand Cartocon release a photoshoot to accompany their first collection this year ‘2015: A Cartocon Odyssey’.

Shot on an unusual tin-foil background (that must’ve been fun to photograph), the collection sees a range of simple long-sleeve tees as well as regular T-shirts, heavy duty hoodies and sweatshirts. The stimulus for the designs of the apparel is ‘imperfections, past and present’, which include graphic references to VHS tape boxes, Photoshop and IBM.

The shoot itself is simple, with the focus on the clothing. Personal highlights for me are the grey embroidered crewneck and the wonderfully symmetrical grey long sleeved T-shirt. I appreciate the sparing use of graphics; whilst a couple of pieces prominently feature them, the vast majority of this is clean and understated.

You can purchase the collection now from Cartocon’s website.
