Invincible x New Balance MRL996IN ‘Kentucky Derby’

With their debut collaboration about to reach its 2nd birthday, New Balance once again team up with Taiwanese concept store Invincible for the MRL996IN ‘Kentucky Derby’.

Whilst sounding pretty robotic in its name, the shoe itself is a classy outcome that resembles some of the brogue inspired details of their last shoe. Using a racing theme for its inspiration, the horse associations come chiefly through the photography. The direction focuses on the details as well as implementing a little bit of a playful side with the hay, leading to a well executed shoot.

The smarter feel to the shoe seems to be one that Invincible is fond of, and they do it well. I’m really fond of the insole design, though naturally a Ralph comment goes without saying.

The release date for the trainers is set for Satuday 23rd of May over at Hanon.
